TCAS Monthly Meetings

Tuscarawas County Agricultural Society meetings are held monthly the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Secretary’s office at the fair grounds.

Annual Election of Directors

The Annual Election of the Tuscarawas County Agricultural Society will be held the first Saturday in November, in the Secretary’s office at the Fair Grounds from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Any person who has purchased a membership to the Tuscarawas County Agricultural Society is able to cast a vote. The Annual Meeting will follow the counting of the ballots. According to Ohio State Fair Managers guidelines, TCAS memberships must be purchase by the last day of the fair.

Requirements to qualify for board petition

1. All TCAS board members need to be current members of the TCAS. And there can be no more than two board members from the same township.
2. You must attend two of the monthly TCAS board meetings, in their entirety, prior to the Tuscarawas County Fair of the year in which you plan to take out a petition. (Which would mean any two meetings from January through the first meeting in September. Not the open meeting held in September.) Open meetings during fair week do not count for meeting attendance.
3. All individuals need to complete a successful background check and the results need to be turned into the office prior to receiving your petition. If you are elected to the board, you will be reimbursed for the expense of the background check.
4. You must sign an acknowledgement sheet, that you understand the roles and responsibilities of a TCAS board member. These forms are available in the secretary's office and need to be signed before receiving your petition.
5. The petition must have ten legible signatures of individuals that are current members of the Tuscarawas County Agricultural Society. The signed petitions should be turned into the secretary’s office located at 259 S. Tuscarawas Ave. Dover, Ohio 44622, thirty days prior to the annual election. 6.
6. Annual elections are on the first Saturday in November of each year from 9 AM to 2 PM, followed by the annual meeting.
7. Elected and appointed directors will be sworn in during the first regular board meeting following their election or appointment to the TCAS board.
